South to South migration

South to South: In 2013, about 82.3 million (36%) international migrants who were born in the South were residing in the South. This is against 81.9 million (35%) who were born in the South and were living in the North. 71% of international migrants in the world originated in the South.

From 1990 to 2013 the number of international migrants born in the South and residing in the North doubled, increasing from 40m to 82m. Migrants originating in the South and living in the South grew from 59m to 82 m.
